UK Tax Calculator
Tax Year 2026/27
Calculate how much Income Tax you pay from your annual salary.
How Our UK Tax Calculator Works
Our UK tax calculator helps you estimate how much Income Tax you may pay from your annual salary during the 2026/27 tax year. Enter your salary and choose your tax region to see an estimated annual, monthly and weekly tax amount.
Income Tax differs depending on where you live in the UK. Scotland uses separate Scottish Income Tax bands and rates, while England, Wales and Northern Ireland use the main UK Income Tax structure. Selecting the correct region helps produce a more relevant estimate.
The calculator focuses on Income Tax rather than every deduction that may appear on your payslip. National Insurance, workplace pension contributions, student loan repayments and other deductions are calculated separately.
Your actual Income Tax may differ because of your tax code, taxable benefits, bonuses, overtime, pension arrangements or other adjustments made through PAYE.
Please note: WeFixPay provides estimates for guidance only. Your final tax liability is determined by HMRC and your individual circumstances.

Understanding UK Income Tax in 2026/27
Income Tax is calculated on taxable income after any available Personal Allowance has been taken into account. For the 2026/27 tax year, the standard Personal Allowance is £12,570, although it can be reduced for people with income above £100,000.
In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the main Income Tax rates are 20% at the basic rate, 40% at the higher rate and 45% at the additional rate. Scotland uses its own Income Tax bands, with rates ranging from 19% to 48%. This is why choosing the correct tax region in the calculator is important when estimating your tax.
Moving into a higher tax band does not mean all of your income is taxed at the higher rate. Only the portion of taxable income that falls within each band is charged at that band’s rate.
Your tax code and individual circumstances can also affect the amount deducted through PAYE. If your payslip differs from the calculator estimate, check your tax code and other taxable income or benefits.
For the official figures, you can check HMRC’s Income Tax rates and allowances for the 2026/27 tax year.
Why Your Tax Code Matters
Your tax code tells your employer how much tax-free income you may be entitled to before Income Tax is deducted through PAYE. A standard tax code is often based on the Personal Allowance, but your code can change because of benefits, previous underpayments, additional income or other HMRC adjustments.
If your payslip shows significantly more or less Income Tax than the WeFixPay estimate, checking your tax code is a good first step. You can usually find it on your payslip or through your HMRC Personal Tax Account.
The calculator provides an estimate using standard assumptions, so an unusual tax code may produce a different real-world result.
